About The Iron Gate
The Iron Gate is located in charmingly historic Franklin, Tennessee, just south of Nashville. Our enthusiastic and decidedly eclectic clientele visit from all over the globe. There are even some we count as regulars who don’t live in the state. We hope visitors from near or far find the showroom just as they remember it…with plenty of items they don’t remember.
In 1997, Rozanne Jackson and Bo Boaz opened their new business in a cozy bungalow of a shop. The duo’s boundless enthusiasm and artistic eyes kept their items and design sensibilities continually fresh. It wasn’t long before customers began congratulating themselves on being clever enough to find and appreciate such a charming boutique. Many who came acted less like customers and more like friends, staying for hours at a time.
Our unassuming original location may have lacked such luxuries as air conditioning, but it did have one feature that left its legacy: the courtyard’s old iron gate. We chose it as our namesake since it was classic yet sophisticated. Today the Iron Gate occupies prized storefront space in downtown Franklin. We have far more items than we used to. However, a light and spacious showroom is still full of items that are, like our original gate, classic yet sophisticated.
The store also serves as home base for our thriving interior design business. We find the showroom often offers the initial inspiration for our clients. So, whether you seek design services or just contented browsing, we welcome old and new friends every day.
Things that have not changed over the years:
- We still love what we do.
- Every object in the store has a story
- Our offerings tend to be real, not imitation
- Romance and whimsy still make a great couple
- Candles, candles everywhere
- Customers visit whether they need a 19th century French sconce or a just a glass of wine and a smile.
